HealthFitCounter Handheld Diet and Exercise Counter
Even if the doctor does not say a lot about your diet when you have diabetes, you should know well enough that it cannot be the same as the former. Start Out to work on it the best you can now, with vitamins and proteins and body building foods. Only no carbohydrates well, very little.
You need a regulation of sugar consumption in your diabetes diet. Don’t take the raw types, only the type that is cleverly integrated in your food so that the glucose can get into your blood. That should be safe enough. I do advise that you pick up the proteins, though.
You know, as a diabetic, you simply cannot be having processed white sugars in your food. It just isn’t wise, as the thing will probably turn your system upside down and place you to an early grave. Look instead for low calorie low sugar foods. That will do you right.
The food you have to be eating when you suffer from diabetes is not exactly bad; its only something that you are not used to. What you need to work on is getting your system and your tastes adapted to it. The sugar plainly has to be less, and the proteins more.
A lot of folks dread their diabetes diet because they are being pressured to eat what they must and not what they wish. That is what you need to break away from: the tendency to dislike it. Once you can have your mind focus on pleasures instead, you will get by, I assure you.

Healthfit Counter is a great value for the price!

| After reading some comments I was a little afraid to try it, but the HealthFit Counter gives me great features for a reasonable price. Just be sure to use it in good light, and you won't need to pay more for a back-lit device, assuming you could find one. This one works just fine in good light. I spent a little time reading the manual before proceeding to set up my HealthFit Counter. It probably took about twenty minutes for initial set up, which I personalized with my information (height, weight, activity level, caloric needs for my target weight, which the manual helps you determine). It was well worth the time to do it right the first time. Since then, data entry is quick and easy. I have had no problems, and find this helpful little device invaluable. It is small enough to slip easily into my purse or pocket, so I carry it everywhere. Tracking those elusive calories that might sabotage my diet is now routine, and I just spend a couple minutes after a meal entering data about what I have eaten. The HealthFit Counter makes it easy to enter information with a couple clicks, and I can even enter personal recipes using special ingredients, or new items that arrive in the grocery store, just by referring to the nutrition panel on the item I purchase and entering that info. Once you have entered new information, it is stored so next time it is just a click to enter. I track not only my goals, but calories, fat, cholesterol, sodium, protein and my exercise for the day. Keeping a food journal - a record of what I eat and my actual activity, has been a real eye opener for me, and has helped me stay on track. I have never been able to stick to a diet and exercise routine before, and am thrilled to be losing weight and inches. Now I have energy and feel great about myself. I love the HealthFit Counter and highly recommend it. |
Needs major improvement

| I have had my Healthfit counter for several years. My complaints? Too hard to see. It does not have any backlighting. The software I received would not interact with the device. They sent me several software cd's and none worked on any of my computers. It did, however, wipe out the memory of the device. Even so, I kept it and still use it because even with it's faults I have found nothing better. Too bad they won't make improvements. |

The device does what it says. Keeps track of your calories and evertying else listed on a nutrition lable for up to 30 days. Can get an average of nutrients for 3 to 30 days. You can input your own food data, which does take time... but easy access once your done. Can create recipies from the food in the data base. Also has an exercise tally option that lets you know how many calories you have burned up per day. I have had this device for 2.5 months and lost 25 lbs.
It's now been 6.5 months and have lost 48 lbs... this is a great tool. Have had no problems! |

When I received my Health Fit Counter (3/08) it was disappointing that the Nutrition Guide had been used! Really! Someone else had taken notes in pen and had probably returned the machine as well and thoughtlessly the company had mailed it to the next order, unfortunately my address.
After short while later the entire Health Fit Counter stopped working. The batteries were new and it didn't even turn on. I regret wasting my money with the company. The customer service number is always busy. (No surprise there.)
I have found an great application for my reliable iPhone and am using that to track my diet. It cost $5.99 |

| It did all that I wanted it to do but I had to replace the batteries every day. First I thought it was the cheap ones that came with it so I put Duracells in but the next day, those were dead too. I'll be sending it back for a refund. |
