Align Daily Probiotic Supplement

A stable diet and affinity for all food groups guarantee right quantities of much-needed nutrients. However, not all people are lucky with a liking for vegetables or tolerance for milk. There are also people with allergies to nuts and chicken which are excellent sources of protein and good fat. What if you are one of them? How can you be certain that you get good nutrition without force-feeding yourself brocollis? This is why supplements and nutrition should function together.

Before taking supplements, it would be smart to seek your doctor’s advice. After all, you want to be bound to have the proper supplements and nutrition. The wide variety of supplements include multivitamins, protein supplements, minerals, and specialized supplements. Multivitamins are the most prescribed supplements. Regulated and concentrated amounts of essential vitamins are packed in a tablet or gels. Protein supplements are commonly used by people who want to build more muscle such as athletes. Mineral supplements include calcium for bone growth. Dietary supplements and memory enhancers are commonly classified as specialized supplements.

Supplements and nutrition must be complementary. For example, a person who consumes large amounts of carrots and squash need not take a supplement of Vitamin A. This is because too much of Vitamin A can cause a yellow or orange tinge to the skin. Other overdoses on minerals and vitamins can even disrupt normal hormonal function. After all, even too much of a good thing can be hazardous to health.

Hence, a proper supplements and nutrition scheme must be discussed with the doctor in order to prevent overdoses or taking unnecessary supplements. The US FDA in recognition of the growing market and need for supplements has taken steps to regulate the production, dosage, and sanitation of supplements. This was done to ensure good-quality products. This move is also partly due to rising number of unprescribed supplement use among consumers. The agency also stressed the importance of informed use among supplement users. It is not enough to know the name of your supplements. You should know what deficiency it corrects and how it works. Studies show that many use different supplements whereas tests done to them indicate only a minimal lack which can be corrected by a single kind. Also, despite the supplement rage, doctors and health experts still stand by natural correction of deficiencies by means of a proper diet. They suggest eating alternative sources of nutrients found in allergy-inducing foods. Hey, real food tastes better than capsules anyway.

Didn't help with Sarcoidosis

Review Date: July 31, 2010
Reviewer: Sharon Sassano,
I tried this product after seeing it recommended on a sarcoidosis support web-site. It did seem to help some people when their sarcoid progressed to intestinal problems. I was hopeful that it might work for me. And with Amazon's subscribe & save program the price is amazing. Unfortunately, it didn't seem help me at all. Of course, with sarcoid it would put to an extreme test. Under normal circumstances it might be very different.
Didn't work for me

I've always used the yogurt, and I always had very good results. But, I forgot to eat it a good number of times. Thought I'd try the pills, I never have a problem with forgetting my pills. But, this type of probiotic did not work for me. I faithfully took a pill each day, but I was severely bound up by the end of two weeks. I went back on the yogurt, and within two days, I was regular again. Sorry, Align, I tried.
I advise anyone who has not used this to try it, it may work for you. Each body is different.
good for this celiac patient

Reviewer: C. W. Steele, New Mexico
My gastroenterologist highly suggested that I use this when he thought I had IBS. We learned at some point that I was in fact not IBs but celiac disease (common thing there). I can tell a difference when I'm not on it and I accidentally get some gluten and when I am. The reaction is so much easier to handle and get through. I went from bed ridden to being ablo to tough it out for a couple of hours! I religiously take this daily. And if you have a flex plan it is covered!
works very well.

Reviewer: D. Quiroz,
My GI doc said for me to take this probiotic and I was not sure I wanted to invest the money in it. He said " not all probiotics are created equal". I took a 1 week sample pac from him and gave it a try. I have been diagnosed with Celiacs disease and have had problems with bacterial over growth even though I am on a gluten free diet. This product has helped me with cramping and diarrhea caused by the over growth. It took around 1 month for me to notice it working on my gut but I am happy with the results. The price is worth it for me I also found that If you order it through Amazon on auto schedule it will knock of %15 of the cost. I will continue to take it as long as it is available.
Did not work for me

I tried this product for 4 months, which was 3 months too long. I kept expecting my digestive system to begin working smoothly again, however it made me even more irregular than usual. I am an active woman, I eat right and exercise daily. I am not overweight nor do I have IBS or any other bowel or intestinal problem that I know of. Not pooping for 3 days is not healthy. What goes in should come out within 12 to 24 hours. I was very dissapointed that this product didn't work but only seemed to make it worse. I am glad it works for most people, but if you do not see results within a few weeks, don't waste your money. Every body is different and requires different probiotics to work. I'm going back to what I used to use when I was regular and that is fermenting my own Kombucha and drinking it on a daily basis. I know it works to keep the flora of the intestine in balance. I just got lazy, or busy and stopped brewing it a few years ago. Its easy and very, very good for you.
